i had to work 7-4 today. that is so rough for someone like me. but i made it and i actually got to work before my boss! it was a pretty good morning with the kids. max stopped crying! it was amazing. the kids enjoyed being outside in the water and i was able to get a lot done for the classroom. i rewrote the welcome to class letter, created and laminated other signs for the room, and started working on fixing up the closet that is a MESS. i found so many materials today that i didt know i had. it is definitely a week long project. the kids made bubbles today and loved playing in the soapy-bubble water. we also did ice cube painting. that didnt go well....only bc the breaker did it and used way, way too much paint.
by the way, i officially named my classroom for the fall. after much, much debate my decision is.....................

after work i went grocery shopping. i was very excited to see that both my favorite tortilla chips and the diced tomatoes were on sale so i stocked up on pico de gallo ingredients. it makes for a yummy dinner, lol. everything else is strictly fresh so i think i am doing well.
i also went to the pet store. i got cat and dog food. what i pain in the ass. i made the mistake of introducing my beloved animals to healthy food and now i have to stick to it. i spend so much time reading labels and spending ridiculous amounts of money on pet food. but i guess i have to do it, they are my children after all.
i also made the bold decision to buy a classroom pet. i had a hard time deciding what i wanted. i was so torn between what i would like and what is appropriate for a 12-18 month old class. the winner is...................(drum roll please).........................................a betta fish!
leave me a comment to help me name him. i am going to ask my kids, of course. but the problem is that none of them will be in the class in the fall when the school year starts. so i might just name him myself. what do we think of naming him stripes or marty (from madagascar)? let me know, give me ideas!
